No. The developer center uses a prepaid wallet with usage-based charging and has no monthly subscription fee.
Text models usually charge for input, output, and cached tokens. Image, video, audio, and tool models use their configured image, second, minute, or call units.
Failed requests are not charged and record zero cost. If a stream disconnects early, tokens already generated are still billed from actual usage.
A model may expose input/output, cache, resolution, or service-tier prices. The billed rate matches the selected model, tier, and request parameters.
